She has testified and been accepted as an expert in the examination of handwriting and questioned documents on several occasions prior Tribunals, Magistrates, District, Supreme and Family Courts in many jurisdictions throughout Australia as well as in foreign Tribunals and Courts. He regularly presents workshops and lectures on the applications of forensic document examination to investigators and lawyers. He has extensive court experience in Australia and overseas (including UK, Cong Kong, Singapore, and Bermuda) spanning a period of over twenty five years. He has provided expert reports on a wide range of document examination matters including examinations of signatures and handwriting (both of which include foreign script examinations), stamp impressions, sequences of writing, photocopy and fax origins, typewriting and document alteration and manipulation. As well as undertaking casework and submitting reports in various jurisdictions across Australia, Andrea conducts research in many areas of forensic document examination with a keen interest in electronic signatures and is involved in the research and development of the technology and its applications both in industry and in forensic examinations. She also presents on the scope of forensic document examination for investigators and lawyers. This involved the use of simple nontoxic techniques to flourish latent fingerprints on the notoriously difficult surface of polymer bank notes. This research is ongoing and Claire maintains an interest in the area of latent fingerprint development.
