No segment of Manly is more than 1km from either the Barbour or the ocean. To the north the area is bounded for the maximum segment by Burnt Bridge Creek, running from the north west last of Seaforth to Manly Lagoon. Within the boundaries are a diverse range of land forms including bays, beaches, headlands, rugged cliffs, steep slopes and areas of plateau. Manly has medium climate with hot summer and gentle winter. The fragmentation of spontaneous bush land areas in Manly has reduced the viability of habitat in many bush land reserves to encourage populations of native fauna. For a wide range of services, doing business with Council is as effortless as going to the Manly Town Hall and meeting with the Customer Service team. Planning is a statutory requirement and requires that Council work with other community organizations to address the needs of particular target groups within the community.
